About Us

Parautane Lodge bed and breakfast is hosted by Alan and Candace Donovan. Alan is a New Zealander with 18 years of dairy farming experience. Candace moved to New Zealand from Canada where she trained as a physiotherapist before setting up her own practice here in Nelson.

Recently married atop Mount Arthur, both Candace and Alan have a keen interest in the sports. Alan has raced the length of New Zealand by means of kayaking, cycling and running and both have competed in New Zealand's legendary Coast to Coast race.

Having both travelled extensively in the past to destinations such as England, Germany, Austria, France, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Belgium, Italy, Thailand, Nepal, Bali, Canada and the USA, we now look forward to helping others enjoy their own travels.
